Ambassadors Programs in Brief

Ambassadors Programs includes Nursing Assistant and Patient Care Technician. The Programs are 80% theory course and 20% completed in the skills lab. The program is State-approved. Due to Covid-19, many facilities limit students to enter for clinical practice at this time.

YOU MUST PRESENT ON FIRST DAY OF CLASS:

NEG COVID-19 TEST (within 72 hours of start date)

NO TEST – NO ADMITTANCE TO CLASSROOM

DO NOT COME TO CLASS WITHOUT RESULTS

 

  • Prerequisites are a G.E.D
  • Courses start four weeks after registration.
  • Course Schedule: Nursing Assistant is a 4-week program and the Patient Care Technician is an 8-week program.
  • Skill-Lab Practice one week with an occasional Saturdays
  • NO ADMITTANCE WITHOUT COVID-19 TEST / MASK  (MUST BE KN95 MASK)
  • In case of severe weather, or Covid-19 shut down, classes will on be Zoom. *Chromebook will be provided if needed*

Upon successful completion of these course programs, students will receive a certificate of completion. Students will be eligible to take the State of Michigan Nursing Aid Certification Exam. The Patient Care Technician students will be eligible National Certification Exam through the National Health Career Association (N.H.A.).

Classes, Curriculum and Cost

Nursing Assistant

  • There are two courses in the program: (1) Basic Nursing Skills and (2) Clinicals.
  • Class Size is up to 8 students per four-week session.
  • The cost of the program is $2,818 which includes Uniform, Books, CPR Class, Background Screening, Home Healthcare Workshop, and the Cost of State of Michigan Practice Certification and State of Michigan Certification.
  • Total hours of the program: 83.5 hours/ 4 weeks

Patient Care Technician

  • There are four courses in the program: (1) Advanced Nursing Skills, (2) Phlebotomy Techniques, (3) EKG Techniques, (4) Clinicals.
  • Class Size is up to 8 students per eight-week session.
  • The program’s cost is $3,500 including Uniforms, Books, Background Screening, and Cost of Certification.
  • Total hours of the program: 175 hours/8-weeks

General Course Information

  • Times of Registration: Monthly
  • The curriculum is concept and principle-based, with repetition across each course
  • Courses are student-centered with Skills Lab and an occasional Saturday

Students and Faculty

The faculty are Registered Nurses with baccalaureate or master’s degrees in nursing. Each educator has a passion for teaching and preparing students for the nursing profession. We are committed to developing students to excel in their work, showing compassion and safe care for every patient they encounter. We teach each student the art and science of nursing through a concept and principal-based curriculum. We integrate nursing concepts throughout the program with a focus on preparing the student to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or Certified Patient Care Technician certified by the National Healthcareer Association (N.H.A.).
