Requirements for Clinicals

Patient Care Technician Program (P.C.T.)

  • Students attend clinical practicum during the tenth (10) week of the program.
  • Total Program: 10 weeks. Total clinical hours: 24 hours.
  • Weekly Clinical: Three (3) – 8 hours days, with a ratio of students to Instructor: 8:1

Each student is required to comply with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Resources (MDHHS) Mandatory guidelines that include proof of:
• Initial physical examination, annual health assessment update
• Annual PPD or X-ray
• MMR vaccination requirements. For those students who are not currently vaccinated against Hepatitis B, this vaccine is strongly suggested
• Drug Screening
• Background check

These requirements must be current, updated, and submitted to Ambassadors Institute Administrator one week before the first day of clinical.
