Nursing Assistant Program (N.A.)
Ambassadors Institute Nursing Assistant Program (N.A.) is 120 hrs. total of theory, skills lab, and practicum. This program is conducted over six weeks, 80% theory, which includes the students having five days of lecture and skills lab. Skills lab is 20% of the program; twenty-four (24) hours of training. Along with two (2), eight (8) hours of Clinicals at a healthcare organization.

The Nursing Assistant role focuses on patient safety, patient comfort, and assisting the Registered Nurse or License Practical Nurse to care for a population of patients. Most Nursing Assistants work in Long-term care or Home Care environments.
Ambassadors Institute Nursing Assistant Program (N.A.) is 83.5 hrs. of theory and skills lab. This program is conducted over four weeks, skill lab starting the 3rd week of the course. 80% theory, which includes the students being to have 3 hours of study per day for four (4) days. Skills lab is 20% of the program; twenty-four (24) hours of training. Along with three (3), eight (8) hours of Clinicals at a healthcare organization.
Upon completing this course, students will receive a certificate of completion. They will be eligible to take the State of Michigan Nursing Assistant Certification.
Persons interested in attending the Nursing Assistant (N.A.) program must meet the following criteria for admittance:
- Submit a copy of a high school transcript or G.E.D. Transcripts.
- Provide a copy of a valid government identification and a signed Social Security card.
- Citizenship requirements include an I94 card with date of entry, current passport, and proof of alien registration number if applicable.
- Complete and pass a drug screen within 90 days of the start date.
- Provide immunization records, which include:
- A 2 step P.P.D. within one (1) year of the start date or an initial 2 step P.P.D. with documented proof of annual one (1) step P.P.D. – OR – C.X.R. within one (1) year of start date.
- M.R., Varicella, Hepatitis B series/waiver, recent Tetanus, and Titers.
- ALL health records MUST be completed by the first day of class
- Sign an enrollment agreement.
Ambassadors Institute’s Nursing Assistant (N.A.) program is approximately 83.5 hours of classroom, skills lab participation, and clinical. This program is taught over four weeks, three times a week Monday – Thursday, 9am-3pm.
Upon completing this course, students will receive a certificate of completion. They will be eligible to take the State of Michigan Nursing Assistant Certification.
